Inspiration
Kloudle was inspired by the pressing need for an automated and efficient solution to handle cloud security. As cloud usage increases, so does the potential for vulnerabilities, and our goal was to create an expert tool accessible to every cloud user.
What it does
Kloudle acts as your dedicated cloud security expert, identifying and fixing over 350 security issues across major platforms. It provides users with actionable insights and detailed steps to secure their cloud environments effectively.
How we built it
Developed with a robust tech stack, Kloudle comprises a frontend built in Sveltekit and Svelte4, and a backend developed with FastAPI in Python. Utilizing Kinde for authentication, and storing data in Postgres, our platform operates with security scanners and misconfiguration evaluations hosted in Google Cloud using CloudRun. We use Google PubSub for messaging and Couchbase Capella as the primary datastore.
Challenges we ran into
Establishing seamless integration across various cloud services and managing rapid scan responses while maintaining accuracy was challenging. Additionally, ensuring the interface remained intuitive and straightforward for users was key but challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully developed a centralized dashboard for a comprehensive view of cloud security posture and implemented a scan process that completes in as little as 3 to 25 minutes. Kloudle’s ability to provide actionable insights with advanced filtering options is another achievement.
What we learned
Building and deploying a scalable cloud security solution taught us the importance of flexibility and adaptability in software development. We learned about the critical nature of user-friendly interfaces and efficient backend processing.
What's next for Kloudle
Our focus is on expanding compatibility beyond current providers and improving our service by refining filter capabilities and scan performance. We aim to integrate AI to simplify detection and fixing of security issues further.
