Inspiration

I came up with this idea when I realized how powerful resource browsing history is. I used my own browsing history (of the last 9 years) and tried to predict my internet behavior and surprisingly it was more accurate than any recommendation engine of big tech companies out there. This fascinated me further to build a way to safely share this information with organizations, all while making sure that my privacy is not breached.

What it does

Kleo Network allows the consensual sharing of social graphs based on the user's browsing history. The user can share this information with an organization and benefit from the personalized experience along with $KLEO rewards without sacrificing privacy. The social graphs are using zero-knowledge proofs to ensure user privacy is not violated.

We have built a Chrome extension to democratize data sharing and wrench power back from big tech. In today’s digital economy, protecting the rights and privacy of the people should not come at the cost of the internet as we know it today. Kleo allows people to choose what they share and with whom. When a user lands on one of our partner sites, we pre-fill relevant data from the user’s browsing history on the Kleo pop-up. Users are given single-click toggles to share these attributes if they want to in the same way they would manage cookie preferences today. We are doing this with the help of Zero-Knowledge proofs. The user profiling criteria is input as a circuit, generating the proof that can be verified on-chain. We also reward users with KLEO tokens randomized in a range (with a maximum cap) based on the kind of data they share and the intent of use by an organization.

What we learned

It's a marketplace model where getting users for free is harder than organizations. Organisations are willing to pay easier.

What's next for Kleo Network

We are planning to launch KLEO in less than a week's time from now on testnet. We are considering all options for decentralised storage and permanent decentralised storage as well.
