Inspiration

Kleaan. respiratory mask was inspired by the rising demand for highly urbanised territories to remain a healthy and safe environment to live. Regarding the rise of the global population and the mass urbanisation, we understand that metropoles remain a key aspect of our development as a human kind, it promotes creativity and collaboration. Therefore, we needed a solution to keep those creative environments livable. At first kleaan. was designed as an anti-pollution mask with regards to the rising pollution levels. But responding to the recent crisis we have adjusted and pivoted the concept.

What it does

kleaan. has a primary function to protect the user from harmful particles and viruses in the air. The more in-depth research has lead us to develop a more purposeful design. We integrate IoT technology to solve pandemics and pollution crisis through data collection, analysis and response. kleaan. mask works as a sensor ecosystem that allows different sensor integration into the mainframe. First sensor records breathing and coughing patterns and sends it through bluetooth to your smartphone which later uploads it to the cloud where machine learning technology analyses it and looks for anomalies to identify certain patterns. With that information the platform can inform the user and send alerts to take action or even inform user's general practitioner. Other sensor options include harmful particle detection and location tracking through the mobile device connectivity. In this way we would be able to map urban areas for such GIS real time information, which later could be used to improve the urbanised territories.

How we built it

We've created a design through 3d modelling softwares and tested it with 3d printers.

Challenges we ran into

It is difficult to work with such difficult part of a human body. Face is very sensitive location and lots of matters need to be taken into consideration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The concept is the biggest accomplishment, because its creates a platform that not only protects directly but can create a positive impact in a longer run.

To rapidly look for information and adapt/ pivot concept and design to suit current crisis.

What's next for kleaan.

We will develop a physical design and make it more ergonomic, also we will create a platform that will allow all the backend communication. The list is endless.
