Inspiration
I wanted to take what I learned last year and make a game that worked.
What it does
The game takes user inputs to move the character around in order to collect kiwis.
How we built it
I used Unity and assets from Unity's Asset Store to build the game from an empty Unity project.
Challenges we ran into
I ran into problems with updating the kiwi counter after modifying the layout and text. I also ran into issues with collisions and hitboxes while programming different objects.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learned how to program and use Unity as well as C# in just 24 hours with no previous experience.
What we learned
When programming in Unity it's best to test the UI and other elements before finishing the program to make sure they are set up correctly and work as intended outside the editor.
What's next for Kiwi Ninja
When I find the time I will fix what I wasn't able to during the hackathon. I will also use what I learned to help make future games easier to build.
