Inspiration

My teammates and i are friends and they are aware of a relative of mine that lost all his belongings in a flood disaster. When we heard of this hackathon, this was a very suitable topic to work with.

What it does

Kivu alert focuses on giving you a website where you can easily view flood levels and probability of the occurrence of a flood just with the use of your location, giving tips on a better/safer place to move to .

How we built it

We made use of HTML, CSS, chatGPT, and Figma.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges with designing the front end page and also in finding a good website to direct our users to find correct flood details about their areas.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We completed our project before the deadline and we are 80% sure it does what we want it to do.

What we learned

We learnt more elements on HTML and CSS. We also learnt about more websites we can use for researches.

What's next for Kivu alert

We plan on inserting an AI assistant to send immediate alert incase of flood risks at night.
