Inspiration

Every child develops differently. Some are naturally faster, stronger, more coordinated, or more resilient, yet traditional fitness platforms often give children the same activities and goals. We wanted to create a system that doesn't just ask, “Did you exercise?” but instead asks, “How are you developing?”So we came up with the idea of designing Kivo to help bring our idea to life

What it does

KIVO is an AI-powered athletic development platform for kids, built around a simple loop: Play → Measure → Understand → Adapt → Improve. Personalized challenges — six game-like challenges (Rope Rush, Reaction Rush, Agility Command, Power Pulse, Endurance Quest, Balance Master), each targeting a different physical skill. Athletic DNA — a baseline profile built from those challenges, tracking Speed, Strength, Agility, Endurance, Reaction and Coordination, that evolves every time the child plays. Real-time performance measurement — live reaction time, accuracy, and score during each challenge, compared against the child's own history, not other kids. AI Coach *— analyzes performance history and generates a plain-language explanation of what's improving and what to work on next **Adaptive difficulty *— challenges get harder when a child is coasting and ease off when they're struggling, so the next challenge is always the right level. **Gamification — XP, levels, streaks, and achievement badges, all framed around personal bests rather than leaderboards against other children. Parent dashboard — a simple view of progress, personal bests, strengths and growth areas, with the same AI-generated insights in parent-friendly language.

How we built it

The platform collects performance data from challenges and assessments, organizes it into an evolving Athletic DNA profile, and uses AI to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Play → Measure → Understand → Adapt → Improve

Challenges we ran into

Making difficulty adaptation feel encouraging. Expressing our idea as a web app, leaving the physical aspect. Making the AI Coach report feel real but not as ordinary AI bots like Google Gemini and others.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the system accomplishing the main task,"Giving every user different experience".

What we learned

We learnt that integrating an AI into such a system should not always be a ask and reply loop but can be report and update making the whole project simple and easy to implement.

What's next for KIVO

Our plans for this project is to breach the gaps between assumption and actually connect the web app to physical products that can actually tell when the child is exercising
