Inspiration

The inspiration for Kit Star came from the challenges faced by The Land's Sake Farm and other similar organizations in the sustainable agriculture industry. These organizations face limited space and resources, seasonal produce, and limited traffic inflow, among others. The goal was to address these challenges and provide a sustainable solution that would revolutionize the way The Land's Sake Farm operates.

What it does

Kit Star is a custom shipping containerized aquaponics and organic vertical farm solution. The solution creates a symbiotic relationship between fish and plants, reducing waste and producing fresh, healthy produce. The vertical farm setup optimizes the use of space within the container, maximizing the harvest potential and providing a sustainable food production system.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was creating a sustainable and efficient closed-loop system between the fish and plants. Ensuring the proper balance between the two was critical to the success of the system. Another challenge was optimizing the use of space within the container to maximize the harvest potential while still providing a healthy environment for the fish and plants.
