What it does
किसान बाजार is a government-operated platform that connects farmers directly with consumers. Farmers can list their produce, and consumers can purchase it without any middlemen. The platform also offers bank-based access for farmers without internet.
How we built it
We built किसान बाजार using a tech stack that includes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, with a Node.js backend and MySQL database for secure data handling. The platform is integrated with payment gateways for safe transactions.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was designing an offline solution for farmers without internet access. We collaborated with local banks to enable free access through welfare and commercial banks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of developing a solution that not only benefits farmers economically but also ensures scalability and sustainability. The offline bank integration is a major milestone that ensures inclusivity.
What we learned
We learned the importance of balancing technology with accessibility, especially in rural areas. Additionally, understanding the agricultural supply chain and farmers’ needs helped us design a user-friendly solution.
What's next for Kisan Baazar
Next, we plan to expand किसान बाजार by adding more regional languages, enhancing our offline services, and integrating advanced data analytics to improve pricing and demand predictions for farmers.
