Inspiration

Millions of Indian farmers are trapped by fraudulent loan agreements due to complex paperwork, illiteracy, and lack of direct market access. We wanted to empower them with a simple, secure tool to detect fraud, understand contracts in their own language, and connect directly with buyers.

What it does

  • Scans loan or contract documents with AI-powered OCR.
  • Translates complex clauses into local languages with text and audio support.
  • Highlights red flags like high interest rates or hidden fees.
  • Shows real-time market prices for crops.
  • Connects farmers directly with local buyers, cutting out exploitative middlemen.

How we built it

  • Designed India-friendly UI/UX in Figma with large fonts and earthy colors.
  • Built frontend with React + Tailwind CSS.
  • Used Google Vision OCR API for document scanning.
  • Integrated Azure Translate API for multi-language support.
  • Implemented OpenAI GPT for simplifying and summarizing legal terms.
  • Created a real-time listing system using Firebase for direct buyer-seller connections.
  • Recorded demo with Screen Studio.

Challenges we ran into

  • Adapting OCR accuracy to handle poor-quality rural documents.
  • Finding high-quality translations for Indian legal terms.
  • Balancing offline accessibility with real-time features.
