Inspiration
Modern distributed systems require autonomous resilience. As AI agents increasingly manage mission-critical infrastructure, we noticed a significant gap between high-level prompt instructions and hardened deterministic execution. We wanted to build KiroPulse—a self-healing, multi-node task orchestrator engineered from the ground up using Kiro's spec-driven development.
What it does
KiroPulse provides high-availability agentic task orchestration across heterogeneous nodes:
- Autonomous Task Scheduling: Distributes workloads dynamically with multi-channel failover.
- Spec-Driven Architecture: Enforces deterministic contract verification for all agent tool executions.
- Circuit Breakers & Health Telemetry: Automatically isolates failing upstream channels and routes requests to healthy nodes.
- State Persistence: Ensures zero task loss during network partitions or node recovery.
How we built it
We leveraged Kiro (IDE, CLI, and Agent Hooks) throughout the entire software lifecycle:
- Spec-Driven Development: Structured system specifications in markdown contracts before generating core services, eliminating hallucinations.
- Kiro Hooks & Custom Agent Workflows: Automated regression validation and multi-node synchronization routines.
- Claude Opus 5.5 Integration: Utilized frontier reasoning to generate resilient failover handlers and strict schema parsers.
Challenges we ran into
Handling graceful state migration across asynchronous worker nodes under high latency was a major hurdle. Leveraging Kiro's steering documents and iterative refinement allowed us to design robust idempotency keys and state transition locks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully implemented automated failover across multi-region nodes with zero message duplication.
- Built a developer-friendly CLI and clean REST interface.
- 100% of the core architecture was co-designed and verified through Kiro.
What we learned
Kiro's spec-driven methodology fundamentally shifts development from haphazard code generation to structured, verifiable engineering.
What's next for KiroPulse
- Enhanced MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool ecosystem expansion.
- Automated multi-tenant load balancing with cryptographic verification proofs.
