Kinship Care App

Inspiration

Grandparents struggle to raise children on their own and find support options. Most children in kinship care (59 percent or 1,360,000 children) live with grandparents. Kinship care doesn’t receive the same benefits/support as foster care from the US child welfare system.

What it does

We aim to curate resources for kinship caregivers (specifically grandparents) to easily access programs and services. as most are unaware of programs they could take advantage of and feel overwhelmed with taking care of a child they had not originally planned for

What's next for Kinship Care App

if we can get a corporate sponsor for future development, we would like to leverage this app to become a platform where both service providers and NPO’s and govt agencies, and grandparents in need of services can sign up.

• A service provide can filter by location to find people needing their services in the area
• likewise, grandparents and other kinship caregivers can look for services in their area as well
