Inspiration
I was hanging out with my friends and got this idea after a duck took over his pool.
What it does
Meant to be a fun little game while also attempting to explore reinforcement Learning technology
How we built it
I used Godot to program the game
Challenges we ran into
Some ideas and issues with Godot's Physics engine but worked around it by making my own versions
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The game works technically but I would like to continue going forward working on this game to eventually post it on steam when its complete. Many other features were going to be added, however I quickly realized I did not have enough time to work on it.
What we learned
Keep the idea more concise and do not bite off more than I can do. Also learned to not depend on built in features all the time but rather make it your own and it would work better.
What's next for King of the Pool
Several other gamemodes and a complete territory. Different pools that the duck would go to colonize with different features, and an actual reinforcement learning tech that makes the enemies harder to beat as they adapt to your playstyle.
