👑 King of the Hill, Jello-ier Edition: Wobbling Our Way to Victory! 🌋

✨ Inspiration: The Unyielding Ascent, Now Even Jello-ier! ✨

Born from the exhilarating chaos of mobile battle royales and the whimsical allure of physics-defying fun, our journey began with "Arena-1: King of the Hill (Jello Edition)," a quest to inject pure, unadulterated joy into Horizon Worlds. Our vision? A game where every player, regardless of skill, could experience hilarious, heart-pounding moments. This ambition culminated in the Jello Volcano – a battleground where the very ground beneath your feet fights back! Imagine a simple "King of the Hill" transformed into an unpredictable dance of mastery and comedic misfortune. This new "Jello-ier Edition" is fueled by the desire to craft not just a game, but a memorable, shareable experience that showcases significant progression in both gameplay and technical refinement. We're talking pure, unadulterated fun! 🤣

🎮 What it Does: The Wobbly Path to Glory, Elevated! 🚀 "King of the Hill, Jello-ier Edition" is more than a game; it's a testament to progression through playful persistence. Players are immediately thrust into a rapid-fire King of the Hill challenge, racing to conquer the treacherous summit of our Jello Volcano. The core loop, seemingly simple, hides a depth of physics-driven chaos: the capture zone, a vibrant, wobbly "Jello" surface, actively resists control. It's a true test of skill, timing, and sheer adaptability, where every slip, every unexpected bounce, becomes a moment of shared laughter and competitive drive. The thrill isn't just in winning, but in the journey of mastering the Jello, turning falls into strategic maneuvers, and creating unforgettable, meme-worthy moments that demand to be replayed and shared. Get ready for viral content! 🤳💥

🛠️ How We Built It: Forging Fun from Frustration, Iteration by Iteration! 🏗️ Our process was an iterative symphony of passion and problem-solving, meticulously optimized for the mobile experience. We started with a clean slate in Horizon Worlds, bringing the majestic volcano to life as our central stage. The crucial addition of the Jello summit, our capture zone, demanded a deep dive into collision and motion properties. Early and relentless mobile testing was paramount, ensuring seamless traversal and core gameplay functionality on the target platform. This wasn't just about building; it was about refining. The "Jello-ier Edition" represents countless hours dedicated to fine-tuning physics parameters (Mass, Drag, Friction, Bounciness) to achieve that perfect, even jello-ier feel! We've integrated robust player detection, match timers, and intelligent reset logic through meticulous scripting. We've laid the foundation for a truly immersive progression system, with a dynamic leaderboard (initially Top 3, scalable for 8-player matches) actively showcasing triumphs and fueling friendly rivalry. 📈

🚧 Challenges We Overcame: The Summit of Perseverance! 💪 The path to a perfectly wobbly Jello mountain was anything but smooth! We wrestled with the intricacies of the 3D editor, mastering camera controls and precise object placement that often felt like a physics puzzle in itself. Ground alignment and avatar-relative scaling presented unique scaling hurdles. A pivotal victory was squashing the persistent "falling through floor" bug – a testament to our systematic troubleshooting of collision settings. 🐛🚫 Unlocking the nuanced physics properties under "Motion" -> "Interactive" was a journey of persistent interface exploration. Most critically, achieving the delicate balance between object stability and engaging player interaction demanded meticulous iteration and a refusal to settle for anything less than delightful chaos. Each challenge was a learning opportunity, a stepping stone to a more robust and engaging experience. We never gave up! 💖

🎉 Accomplishments We're Proud Of: Milestones of Mobile Magic! ✨

Our pride stems from seeing our vision come to life, especially given the technical complexities of Horizon Worlds. Building the foundational arena from scratch and conquering the early editor learning curve were significant feats. Successfully integrating and scaling the iconic volcano, definitively fixing the critical collision bug, and conducting rigorous initial mobile tests that validated our core approach were monumental. Publishing our original "Arena-1" and confirming its functionality and accessibility on mobile provided crucial early feedback and cemented our commitment to an optimized mobile experience. We've transformed initial hurdles into core competencies, proving our ability to not only build but to meticulously refine for a mobile-first audience, delivering a truly progressed version of our original concept. 🥳📱

📚 What We Learned: The Power of Iteration and Community! 🤝

This project has been a masterclass in the power of iterative mobile testing, proving that real-world playtesting is indispensable for identifying and addressing friction points. We've gained a profound understanding of core editor tools and the critical importance of mastering object properties (Collision, Motion/Physics). Our journey taught us that effective troubleshooting is a systematic process of elimination and persistence. Above all, we've learned the ongoing art of balancing physical reactivity with game stability – a nuanced dance that defines the "Jello-ier" experience. This competition has underscored the value of community feedback and the thrilling potential of building for a broad, engaged mobile audience. It's been an incredible learning adventure! 🧠🌟

🚀 What's Next: Elevating the Experience for Submission! 🏆

Our objective is clear: to deliver a functional, submission-ready MVP that exemplifies progression and encourages sharing – and blows the judges away! We're focusing on the following key enhancements:

Refined Physics Calibration: Meticulously tuning Mass, Drag, Friction, and Bounciness on the capture zone for the ultimate "Jello-ier" feel, ensuring optimal chaos for up to ~3 players. This progression in physics will directly impact player mastery and strategy. 🎯

Enhanced Core Logic: Implementing robust player detection (Trigger Volume), precise match timers, dynamic round states, and intelligent reset logic via scripting, laying the groundwork for a satisfying progression loop as players learn and adapt. ⏱️

Dynamic Leaderboard Activation: Seamlessly connecting player detection data to the sky leaderboard, showcasing top contenders (initially Top 3, with scalability for future 8-player matches) and fostering engaging competition – a direct measure of progression. 🥇🥈🥉

Multiplayer Combat Testing & NPC Integration: Conducting rigorous mobile testing with multiple players to validate physics, leaderboard accuracy, and overall gameplay under load. Crucially, we're introducing an NPC "Knocker" specifically designed to add a new layer of chaos and create hilarious, shareable moments by strategically disrupting players on the hilltop. Get ready for some epic falls! 🤖🤪

Demo Capture Excellence: Crafting a compelling 3-minute mobile demo video that not only showcases the core gameplay and Jello physics chaos but also strategically highlights the BEFORE and AFTER of our progression updates, with a clear narration emphasizing the changes. This video will capture key avatar selfies and impactful camera angles during peak "battle royale" moments, specifically targeting shareable video moments that will leave a lasting impression. 🎥🤳

Environmental Polish & Thematic Immersion: Adding crucial visual and audio elements to elevate the thematic immersion and enhance the overall "King of the Hill, Jello-ier Edition" experience. We want players to truly feel immersed in our wobbly world! 🎶✨

We are committed to delivering an update that not only meets the competition's criteria but also brings genuine joy and endless replayability to the Horizon Worlds community. Wish us luck! 🍀
