Inspiration

Our inspiration stems from the desire to make physics more accessible and engaging for young learners. We believe that by providing a hands-on, interactive experience, we can help students develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the principles of kinematics. Young students should have an easy way to understand basic physics concepts and learn what they want, and this proof-of-concept can provide that.

What it does

Our project, "Kinematics Motion Playgrounds," is a mini physics playground that allows students to explore basic kinematics concepts such as velocity, acceleration, and displacement. Through interactive simulations and real-time feedback, students can visualize these concepts and gain a better understanding of how they work in the real world.

How we built it

We built "Kinematics Motion Playgrounds" using GSAP for motion and Desmos API for graphing. This combination allows us to create an engaging learning environment that is easy to understand and visualize and is accessible to young students.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was implementing GSAP without access to the full club membership, which limited some of the advanced features we wanted to include. So, while we have the code in the background and are working on the full implementation, our presentation is a proof-of-concept, showing the design, idea, and basic functionalities.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating an idea for a project, and a proof-of-concept, that has the potential to make a real impact on how students learn physics. By combining creativity with technology, we've developed a tool that can be both educational and fun to use.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned the importance of simplicity and user-friendliness in educational tools. We also learned how to overcome technical challenges and find creative solutions to complex problems.

What's next for Kinematics Motion Playgrounds

In the future, we plan to address the challenges with GSAP implementation to fully implement the motion features. Additionally, we aim to continue refining the platform based on user feedback and expand its content to cover more advanced physics concepts. Our goal is to create a comprehensive and engaging learning tool that makes physics education accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages.
