When given the time constraint of 24 hours, making an interactive experience with Microsoft's Kinect posed a daunting challenge. After experimenting with the capabilities of the Kinect SDK, we came up with the idea for a fun interactive word scramble spelling game, along with a arithmetic challenge puzzle game. It's fun, and it's educational. The target audience would therefore mainly be younger children. An interactive game is much more engaging for younger children that other types of spelling drills.
In the word scramble game, words of varying length have their letters jumbled up and displayed on screen, where the user can grab them and drag them into the proper order at the bottom of the screen.
In the arithmetic puzzle game, you are given a list of numbers, and you must arrange them in the correct order with the operations addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in order to get the target number.
