Inspiration

None of the classrooms at our high schools have smart boards.

What it does

tracks hand gestures to control a projected os

How I built it

(still a work in prgress) we're using .xaml from kinect sdk into visual studio (we have a program theory)

Challenges I ran into

kinect not compatible with the right hardware, neither me nor my teammate knew how to code

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

learning how to use connect and learning how to code

What I learned

How to code

What's next for Kinect smart board app (for classrooms)

devolpment and implementation into a classroom

Our Hackumass Project:

Overarching problem: can we devolp a cost effective smart board using the Kinect for class rooms?

Resources: Kinect Projector Computer

Hypothesis: by stringing together the correct SDK’s we can develop software that can transform the Kinect into a smartboard.

Procedure: Setup Kinect with a PC
-We installed sdk v2 and the kinect worked almost flawlessly Use the predeveloped tools and .xaml files to create stand alone programs for each individual task (C#) -Use Hand Gestures to control a .xaml program -Add gesture recognition for clicking and scrolliing -Use Kinect Depth to create a method of calibrating different screens combine the standalones to one project in C# -Use several .xaml programs into one project called on utilizing each program 4. We also need to create a program that lets the computer take commands from the Kinect.

Current position: we are still adding the correct standalone programs
