Wanted to join charitable organizations and make a social change, but didn't know where to start. Oftentimes had to turn to social media and search to fine opportunities, but didn't have that option.

What it does

We want to put passion and interests first and then align our users with a project at a charitable organization

How we built it

We decided to use a content-based filtering algorithm to find the organizations that are most relevant to users given their interests and skills.

We ran into challenges with the work flow of the product, how to increase user retention and make ourselves stand our against our competitors

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to brand and market our product uniquely and provide a clean and streamlined experience for our users.

What we learned

We learned the importance of communication and how to work cross-functionally within our team.

What's next for Kindred

We plan to expand our product, business plan and development, and address privacy and fairness issues in the matching algorithm.
