Inspiration 🧠
Studies has shown that the internet has increased anxiety and unhappiness. We sought to change this and create a platform where you can make the internet a better place instead and see the general mood of the online community.
What it does ❓
A user can send an anonymous message to another person based on their emotion. Afterwards, the user himself is asked for his emotion and is then brought to the dashboard where it shows him the statistics and a random message from another user that is relevant to his emotion. This will show him that he is not alone experiencing his emotions.
How we built it 🛠
We used React and Firebase.
Challenges we ran into 🎯
- Learning the charting library, Chart.js
- Translating Firebase timestamps
- Managing our commitments as some us are working
Accomplishments that we're proud of 🏆
- Chart.js
- First hackathon and the learning experience
What we learned 📚
We learned the impact of the internet on mental health. On the technical side, we learned to utilise different Javascript frameworks such as React and Chart.js.
What's next for Kindnus ❓
We plan to expand this platform to have more emotions and have direct messaging in the future.
