Inspiration

In an era of rampant misinformation and fake news, we were inspired to create Kindao, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) dedicated to fact-checking.

We believe decentralized technology can provide a transparent and trustworthy platform for verifying information and combating misinformation.

What it does

Kindao is a decentralized fact-checking platform built on Web3. It allows users to submit claims or information for verification by a network of validators.

Each action of yours gets recorded on the blockchain, including your answers and upvotes.

There's a bounty attached to the proposal. The bounty is KDAO token determined by the proposer, which will be distributed between the best fact-checkers.

How we built it

We built Kindao with Next.js and on Tron blockchain. We used Solidity for smart contracts. And for Frontend, we simply used SASS as a CSS preprocessor.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was designing a robust incentive mechanism to encourage validators to participate honestly and diligently.

We also encountered technical hurdles in integrating decentralized identity solutions and ensuring the security and efficiency of our smart contracts.

The most challenging part was getting familiar with using the library we built, MultipleChain, for Web3 operations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the challenges, we're proud to have developed a functional prototype of Kindao that demonstrates the potential of decentralized fact-checking.

We've successfully implemented core features such as posting proposals, a voting system, fact publishing, and Web3 profiles.

What we learned

Through building Kindao, we gained valuable insights into the complexities of decentralized governance, incentive design, and blockchain integration.

We also learned about new technologies like MultipleChain, and integrating smart contracts to a Next.js app.

What's next for kindao - Decentralized Fact-Check

We're going to move our project to a Web3 domain, and to a .com domain
We'll seek social media attention with a proper marketing campaign.
