Inspiration
Our inspiration was Yanok. We really enjoy the game and liked its concept, so we wanted to create a 2D rogue-like story similar in game mechanics and style but with a unique twist in which the order of killing players matters, emphasizing the chain of events aspect of the challenge that was set by Marshall Wace.
What it does
It's a 4-player PvP game in which players must kill each other in a certain order to win. Killing the wrong player resets the counter, and having to kill players in a specific order adds a unique element of strategy regarding who to eliminate.
How we built it
Since most of us were familiar with Python, we decided to use Pygame to make the development process easier and more efficient, allowing us to deliver the best game we were capable of.
Challenges we ran into
Some of us weren't familiar with Pygame and struggled to work in a collaborative environment.t
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we got the game to work and didn’t give up, even after facing challenges.
What we learned
We learned how to work in a team, use Pygame, apply OOP concepts, and improve our communication skills.
What's next for Kill Order
We want to enhance the quality of life, graphics, gameplay mechanics, and codebase.
