Inspiration
Riding the bus to and from Boston can be a headache! Whether you're cross-registered or going in for fun, the process can be marred by confusion about the bus. Where is it? Did it already leave? Or is it running behind?
What it does
Enter Kiki, your new friend for riding the bus. If you're riding the bus, you send information on whether the bus just left a stop, if it's arriving, or if it's idle waiting at a stop. If you're waiting for the bus, you can see this information consolidated to give you an up-to-date status of the bus' whereabouts.
How we built it
We primarily approached this as a design challenge. Neither of us had ever designed a mobile app from a UI/UX perspective, so we wanted to try something new. This was also our first hackathon, and we wanted to learn about the design process. After coming up with the initial idea, we fleshed out why this was an important thing to make, who the users would be,
Challenges we ran into
Neither of us had ever done UX/UI design, so we had to learn Figma! This certainly brought challenges and a new appreciation for the design of sites we use day to day.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of ourselves for trying something new! We are also proud of the fun name and little logo we came up with, as well as the overall cohesiveness of the design.
