Inspiration
Kaiju Monster movies (like Godzilla) and coding Katas
What it does
I asked AI for ideas for award winning entries for the Code with Kiro Hackathon. It had several ideas.
The Refactoring example for the Education category seemed interesting but a bit boring, but made me think about AI refactoring monstrously complex code.
On the spot, I came up with HydraBug and the Complexasaur Kaiju as Coding Katas. Thus was born a (hopefully) award winning, entertaining Hackathon entry.
Uses AI to grade your entry based on 4 different roles.
How we built it
Using AWS Kiro to build 4 AI grader roles
Challenges we ran into
Kiro looking for global variable called Kiro when I tried to allow Kiro to help refactor code.
How best to let Kiro know about bugs and broken tests
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Use of Claude 3 Haiku for grading code via AWS Bedrock
What we learned
Add a budget tracker so LLM charges don’t get too high
What's next for Kiiro Kaiju: Refactor Rampage
Multi-player teams? Rename to Kiiroi Kaiju (Yellow Strange Beast)
