Kids Connect: A Hackathon Story

🌟 Inspiration

Growing up, some of the best memories came from playing with friends in the neighborhood—no screens, just laughter, games, and imagination. Today, technology dominates children's lives, making real-world connection rare. Kids Connect was born from a simple desire: to give kids a chance to enjoy the kind of fun we had in the good old days—even if just for a little while.

🧠 What I Learned

One of the most exciting things I learned during this project was how to implement real-time monitoring. It’s a crucial feature that ensures safety and builds trust for parents and guardians while kids play and socialize.

🛠️ How I Built It

I found out about the hackathon only two hours before the submission deadline. With no time to waste, I built the project using JavaScript for the frontend and Go for the backend. I also leaned on AI tools to help me move quickly and solve coding issues in real-time.

🚧 Challenges

Time was my biggest enemy. Building something meaningful in such a short window pushed me to simplify my ideas and focus only on the core features. Every second counted, and I had to make fast but smart decisions.

Kids Connect is a small step toward a big goal: helping kids rediscover friendship and fun, safely and offline.
