Kidlio

What It Does Kidlio is a magical web generator built for kids aged 7–15. It guides young users through the process of building their own website by:

Letting them select from colorful UI cards and visual categories (like “Add a Hero Section”, “Choose Your Color Theme”, “Pick Your Fonts”, etc.)
Instantly generating a prompt based on their selections
That prompt can be pasted directly into a builder like Bolt.new to create the actual site
It’s fun, fast, and helps kids learn how websites are structured through interactive discovery — not dry instruction.

How We Built It

Built entirely on Bolt.new for speed, modularity, and flexibility
Used prebuilt components to build an engaging front-end with glassmorphism, animated UI cards, and clean layouts
Created a visual selection system that transforms UI choices into usable prompts
Designed for touch and click interaction, prioritizing accessibility and kid-friendly design

Challenges We Ran Into

Designing for kids is harder than it looks! Balancing playful UI with actual learning took time.
We had to simplify a lot of complex design elements (like layout, responsiveness, typography) into choices a 7-year-old could understand — without dumbing it down. -Bolt.new’s AI potential is massive, but we had to figure out how to leverage it as a backend translator rather than just a coding tool.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

We built a functioning, visually beautiful kid-facing web generator in a short time.
The visual selection > prompt generation system works smoothly, making web building approachable even to first-timers.
Created a UX that’s genuinely enjoyable and not overwhelming — it feels like a creative playground.

What We Learned

Design-first tools can unlock learning in incredible ways — kids don’t need to code to understand code.
Visual communication is everything: the right colors, cards, and layout options make a massive difference to engagement.
Bolt.new can be stretched far beyond basic site building — it can be the brain behind the next generation of educational tools.

What's Next for Kidlio

We’re building a pre-trained AI Assistant ("Kilo the Website Wizard") to guide kids in real-time, answer questions, and make changes to their websites
Adding mini guided lessons to teach basic design concepts like layout, color, and visual hierarchy
Creating a Game Zone with quizzes and design challenges to turn learning into play
Expanding the prompt engine to output full websites in Bolt with AI
Ultimately, we want Kidlio to become the Duolingo of web building — fun, empowering, and unforgettable.
