Inspiration
Our home had a constant loop: parents reminding us to brush, read, and clean, while my sister constantly asked for new toys. We realized both sides had valid goals, so we wanted to replace daily friction with a system that turns responsibilities into rewarding adventures.
What it does
Kiiddo bridges family expectations with daily action through our "Constitution to Calendar" framework. Kids complete daily habit quests to earn credits, which directly unlock wishlist rewards they actually care about, transforming nagging into self-driven discipline and character building.
How we built it
We began with a simple Google Spreadsheet prototype to test the point formula before transitioning to a full app. I designed the UI wireframes with my sister acting as primary tester, and together with my dad, AI development tools, and mentorship from a family friend, we coded the full-stack interactive platform.
Challenges we ran into
Finding the sweet spot between playful gamification and serious habit-building was difficult so it didn't just feel like point-chasing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully eliminated the daily habit battles in our own house, turning chore time into an empowering routine.
What we learned
We learned the core cycle of agile product development: rapid prototyping, real-world user testing, and iterating based on honest feedback.
What's next for Kiddo Turning friction into focus
We are also preparing a wider beta release for neighborhood families to help more homes turn friction into focus.
