Kickoff: Football for Beginners

Inspiration

My girlfriend always felt left out when I watched football. Explaining history or the league table mid-match never worked, so I built something to teach her properly, at her own pace.

What it does

Kickoff is an interactive web app that teaches complete beginners the Premier League and La Liga. It has short lessons on the basics, quick quizzes after each one, and a look at real standings and upcoming matches so it connects to what's actually happening.

How we built it

I'm a beginner, so I built it with Cursor and the Devpost Learn skill pack. I went from scope to PRD to spec before writing any code, then built it step by step with the AI. Built with [tech stack, e.g. HTML/CSS/JavaScript].

Challenges we ran into

What we learned

Planning before building saves a lot of time, and how to guide an AI agent with clear specs instead of vague prompts.

What's next for Kickoff

More leagues, a progress tracker, and a "watch along" mode that explains things live during a match.
