Inspiration

Every parent who had a child of the age of 0-8 had major concerns regarding early education and took measures to enhance their child's mental ability skills and engage them in physical activities. My brother who had a son aged 3 years ( currently ) had the same concern and chose TV, and YouTube as an option to provide early education, and the child also seeks pleasure from those cartoons. But soon my brother realised the risk of getting addicted to screens and chose the toys as an alternate option. But in the Market, the toys are shortfall and meant solely either education or purely fun. Despite having these choices their concern grew by every day. So we came up with an innovative solution KHEL Learn and Play a toy that bridges the gap between Education and Entertainment enhancing mental ability skills and children's personal development.

What it does

KHEL Teaches: Alphabets, Colors, Numbers Khel can sing songs to which your child can dance and it tells stories and sings lullaby too for their bedtimes. Khel also engages with children through Games like MatchIT, MemoryGame, and Catch It which improves their mental ability skills. That's not all, It collects the data based on the child's engagement and analyzes it to provide the report on their mental ability skills through an Application. Despite getting bored with the regular activities the parents can upload and customize their interest songs, rhymes, and stories through it, and also promote regional education. Parents can change the level of difficulty of games by sending levels based on their engagement. What's the best part? It does all these without a screen!

How we built it

The KHEL toy is built by integrating the Microcontroller, Shift register, Speaker, LED strips, and buttons The khel can be paired to the mobile phone via Bluetooth logs the information and stores it in the database which is further used to analyze and generate the reports.

Challenges we ran into

1) Designing the Khel without screens through Research. 2) Including the Essential Features (education, games) through Single Feature Keyboard. 3) Generating Reports based on child engagement

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have done Research, Design, and simulation of the essential features of Khel in this 30-hour hackathon. As I am a man team every single task became time time-consuming process despite having challenges the motivation to hack and learn brought my potential out and able to complete this project.

What we learned

Learned a lot that's for sure! Hackathon is not only meant to use all kinds of high technologies to solve a rocket science problem but to solve a simple problem that concerns a huge population and has a good impact on society at a low cost and makes the thing affordable to all. Learned about: GitHub Copilot, and Taipy ( new technologies )

What's next for KHEL: Learn and Play

Reensuring the Quality check of Khel, Manufacturing, and Designing the Khel for the Best fit helps to bring smiles to every parent and child. We hope Khel is an opportunity for parents to grab and enhance their children's ability skills and engage them in physical activities and balance the screen time.
