Inspiration
We felt that current solutions (i.e. FB Marketplace were not centralized enough/were not optimized to cater towards the university crowd, which we felt was a open opportunity.
What it does
Our web-app allows individuals to both post subleases and look for others who are posting them: afterwards, they can contact the individual and get the process going!
How we built it
We utilized React to develop the front-end and Firebase to manage the database and authentication.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to initially set up most of the Firebase components, and there were often issues with styling components.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of having properly implemented Firebase for the first time and allowing for true interaction and database management for the users.
What we learned
How to utilize React and Firebase properly, and also how to plan ahead before implementing and creating our project with code.
What's next for KeyLime
We want to add messaging directly on the platform, as well as more interactivity and features that allow people to favorite leases, bid on leases, and set expiration dates, to name a few.
