Inspiration
We kept coming across articles in the newspaper depicting the challenges faced by key or frontline workers including food shortages, lack of transport, lack of transport facilities etc
What it does
Frontline/Key/Essential Workers can sign up with our platform and receive a unique identifier (standard text and barcode format). The unique identifier (referred to as KeyID) identifies them as frontline/key/essential workers and allows them access to online services with partner organisations including grocery stores, restaurants, ride hailing and childcare services at reduced prices. The KeyID automatically means that the requested service is on priority.
Frontline/Key/Essential workers include but are not limited to healthcare workers, deliverymen, stock clerks, etc.
Partner organisations Keep their business operations going as services that were on hold (such as ride hailing) are now being used by Frontline/Key/Essential workers. Grocery stores and pharmacies also have more customers and the price different after discount can be made up the government or the government's private partners
Government Frontline/Key/Essential workers efforts are recognised and certain logistical and economic pressure is lifted off them.
Summary We find partners who are willing to recognise the KeyID (they build their own feature or use our API to integrate this feature into the checkout page) -> Frontline/Key/Essential workers get a KeyID either by submiting their own applications or have applications submitted on their behalf by their employer -> The KeyID can then be used to get discounts or to put the service delivery on priority

What's next for KeyID
Our goal is to explore the business side of things including identifying and interviewing partner organisations and seeing how it is possible to integrate KeyID with their services. We are also looking at developing important features of KeyID by determine best data practices. Additionally, we are looking at developing some participatory features to make the idea more global.
