In our team, each member has a family member suffering from diabetes, the disease that causes 1.5 million deaths annually. It can be painful to look at your grandparents and even younger ones who restrict themselves to many types of food, and sometimes even are afraid to just eat ordinary edibles. It is not uncommon for our family members to share almost the same story; it happens that some diabetics need to take pills such as R and NPH before eating certain foods (fast food, holiday portions). Such medications can often trigger a bout of memory loss, during which people often become very angry and then do not remember what they have said. This happens even if the diabetic does not take such pills. For our team, these events are a major concern as we would like to help people with diabetes enjoy sweet products willingly and cut back on pharmaceuticals. Thus, our team created a website project that distributes dried fruits to the population of our city. Although we try to help people with diabetes, dried fruits, unfortunately, are not popular among the other part of the population and we have not given up the opportunity to promote this type of product to others.
The project is based on the company "Keptirgen", founded by a family member of one of the team members. About the name of the project itself - Keptirgen translated from the Kazakh language means "dried", directly alluding to products. The project works like an online store: Everything is in the internal database, and when people order Keptirgen products, everything comes to the post office, and later, using delivery, the goods are delivered to these addresses. Since the project is currently working only in local areas, there is only a Russian version and the Keptirgen business itself can only work within the city of Almaty. The thing we are proud of is that, unlike other local online stores, Keptirgen does not have problems with huge extents or problems with food storage, as dried fruits have a quality of not deteriorating for years. The main problem faced by our team is the lack of time; creating such a project takes a lot of effort and time, which sometimes led to frequent errors.
The future of Keptirgen is bright; we are trying to sell our product to as many people as possible, and will eventually add a multiple-language system, including English as well. And we learned that despite that diabetes is not curable, it is yet manageable, and our project will help people enjoy eating "sweet" foods during their fight against this disease.
