KenaKata — Bangladesh's Premium E-Commerce & Merchant POS Platform
💡 Project Inspiration & Problem Statement
In emerging retail markets like Bangladesh, small-to-medium business owners face a major operational hurdle: managing online storefront orders separately from physical in-store transactions. Existing solutions are either too complex, lack local optimization (such as Cash-on-Delivery workflows and Bengali typography), or fail to sync physical store sales with online web stock in real time.
KenaKata was created to solve these challenges by providing a unified, high-performance platform that seamlessly combines consumer-facing e-commerce with a powerful Point-of-Sale (POS) backend.

- Solution: Implemented Django database transactions (
@transaction.atomic) to ensure atomic inventory decrements during both POS checkout and web order confirmation.
Responsive Localized UI/UX:
- Challenge: Designing a visually striking interface tailored to Bangladeshi e-commerce expectations without sacrificing load speeds.
- Solution: Created a bespoke CSS framework utilizing CSS variables, responsive typography, and lightweight Bootstrap components.
🔮 Future Enhancements
- Integration with local mobile financial service (MFS) gateways (bKash, Nagad, Rocket).
- Automated SMS order tracking notifications via local SMS gateways.
- AI-driven product recommendations based on user browsing history and purchasing patterns.
