Inspiration
We were inspired by Dungeons and Dragons. There are many books/modules/campaigns where DnD can be played as a solo campaign. But what if we can make our imaginations become something that we can see visually? What if we could see ourselves as a wizard, and strike down smelly, grumpy orcs? Let our imaginations become reality!
What it does
This demo shows the user as a wizard who is walking through a forest. He/she eventually runs into a monstrous orc! Will the monster demolish the wizard or will the wizard use magic to vanquish the new foe to complete the quest?
How we built it
We used Spark AR to create this demo.
Challenges we ran into
One of our largest challenges was finding a way to create a game that is both interactive and engaging. Initially we were toying with the idea of creating a multiplayer game, but began experiencing limitations (networking / connecting multiple phones), so we decided on a solo campaign.
Accomplishments that we are proud of
The process of figuring out Spark AR's capabilities and thinking outside of the box.
What we learned
How to use Spark AR. Thinking outside of the box, especially with what AR can provide. For instance, most AR experiences are effects, but we wanted an engaging game.
What's next for KD Games
Finishing our demo and perhaps creating an application.
