Inspiration
When we thought about the manner how customers go shopping these days, we were highly driven to find a way how we could improve and simplify their experience at a store. Therefore we strived for a reasonable way to implement modern technologies to tackle this challenge.
What it does
Our system simplifies the shopping experience by eliminating the need of a customer, to carry the products with himself and instead let him only scan these articles using his smart phone. At the end of the shopping process the customer just picks up his ready shopping bag, which was packed by an employee at real time. At the same time the compliance of price tag and product is guaranteed by checking the image data of the customer's smart phone we gather information about 1.) the product and 2.) it's price tag. If there is a mismatch a notification will be sent to an employee, who will fix the issue.
How we built it
We used CreateML by Apple to train our image classifier, NodeJS for the web server and iOS and AngularJS for either the customer app and the employee application.
