Inspiration

We were inspired by the fact that it's hard sometimes to remember to connect with people, especially after moving away, for example from high school to college.

Common problems:

  • Staying connected with friends and family is hard as a college student
  • Constantly being left on read and leaving others on read is discouraging
  • There are usually loose ends when trying to deepen relationships with other people in university since schedules do not align
  • Social networking apps are not personalized to tailor to the individual’s messaging/communication style
  • Keeping in contact with others requires a lot of initiative others may not have the time to take consistently

What it does

It sends you a text to remind you to catch up with your friends.

How we built it

HTML, CSS, python, Flask, Twillio, Azure, etc!

Challenges we ran into

Getting the code to host on Azure Twillio text authentications and connecting it to HTML

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Connecting Twillio to HTML :)

What we learned

Learned how to implement Flask applications better, connect other things to HTML and python, get a domain name

What's next for Katchup

  • perhaps adding more functionality and timed sending :)
  • getting the user phone number input and authentication to work
