Inspiration

In the Dominican Republic a lot of businesses sell on installments: appliances, furniture, electronics. Payment collection is the hard part. Paper files, WhatsApp on a personal phone, one person who knows who to call. When that person is out, cash stops.

We decided to start with small retailers and we could onboard two clients on the product this summer. The same payment collection job exists at lenders and banks. That is where we go next.

What it does

Kasso is a payment collection software. You made the sale. Kasso makes sure you collect the money.

Operators get a queue, a customer file, payment promises, and ERP sync. That has been live with our two clients since June 2026.

Kasso Agent is powered by Gemini. WhatsApp today, voice calls next. It reads inbound messages (text, voice, images), writes replies, records payment promises, answers FAQs, and follows up. Operators focus on the small number of cases that need special care. Kasso Agent is live in the product, next we put it on the clients' live accounts.

How we built it

Kasso runs on Cloudflare Workers and Neon Postgres. Gemini (Google AI Studio / Gemini API) classifies and writes every Kasso Agent turn.

We shipped the human workflow first, then put Gemini in the loop: classify, draft, send, write the payment promise back to the file.

Challenges

The hard part is knowing the account: which installment is due, what payment promise was already on the file, whether a photo of a receipt is a payment, and whether "I will pay Friday" should become a payment promise with a date. Voice notes and screenshots are the real inbox.

The more operators used the queue, the more cash they collected landed on accounts they had already worked in Kasso. Kasso Agent is not on the live accounts just yet.

What we learned

Once the file and the workflow exist, Gemini can take the first contact. We already agreed with both clients: $250 a month plus 1% of what Kasso Agent collects, starting when Kasso Agent is collecting. Revenue May to August is $0 because we have not turned that on yet.
