Kasseti TV

Inspiration

Web2 cloud platforms are quite expensive for hosting videos because they require enormous bandwidth costs. Web3 video platforms offer the ability to host videos at a cheaper price since the nature of web3 systems is decentralized and distributed.

What it does

Kasseti TV is a Web3 entertainment platform for hosting very short CGI Animation Films.

Every video hosted on the platform must be less than 2 minutes.

Consider Kasseti TV to be the Netflix or YouTube of short CGI Animated films.

The app is build using Theta Network Video API.

How we built it

Kasseti TV is build using the Theta Network Video API.

Animated films are uploaded onto the Theta Video Network API.

The videos are then fetched to the app by making a fetch request to the videos uploaded API call.

The App is build using the Node.JS framework and the JavaScript API.

Challenges we ran into

We had a problem uploading films using the Theta Video Upload API Call.

So we decided to upload the videos directly to the platform through the Theta Upload User Interface.

The videos are then fetched using the Theta videos uploaded API request call.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The app loads really fast compared to apps built on other web3 platforms.

We are also proud of the app's beautiful user interface.

What we learned

We gained a lot of experience working with the Theta Video API and navigating the Theta Network platform in general.

Theta Network is a great platform for building world-class web3 software projects.

What's next for Kasseti TV

Working on new versions for iOS and Android. Also working on in app purchases.
