KarmaBite: In India, 40% of food is wasted while millions remain hungry. This is a management crisis, not a scarcity issue. We built KarmaBite to bridge this gap.
KarmaBite is a hyperlocal, real-time platform connecting those with surplus food to those in need. A donor simply lists the food item, quantity, and their address. Instantly, nearby NGOs or individuals see the donation appear on their feed, enabling immediate pickup before the food is wasted.
We developed this functional MVP in under 24 hours using HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript, powered by Google Firebase for its robust real-time database and authentication features. Our app is live and fully operational.
Our vision is to evolve KarmaBite into a comprehensive non-profit ecosystem with features like NGO verification, a trust-based rating system. We believe KarmaBite is more than an app; it's a community-driven movement to fight food waste, one meal at a time.
