Inspiration
Our project, Karma Simulator, draws its core inspiration from the addictive simplicity of idle or "useless clicking" games. We wanted to capture that engaging feedback loop and apply it to a familiar online concept.
What It Does
Karma Simulator is a Reddit Karma farming simulator. Players earn "karma" by clicking, then strategically invest that karma in shop upgrades to accelerate their gains. It's designed to be a fun, albeit "useless," way to experience the satisfaction of accumulation.
How We Built It
We leveraged Bolt.new and Devvit to bring Karma Simulator to life, harnessing their capabilities to create an interactive experience.
Challenges We Faced
Developing the game presented a few hurdles, particularly with flair assignment and Snoovatar handling. Integrating these features smoothly required careful attention to detail.
Accomplishments We're Proud Of
We're particularly proud of how Karma Simulator manages to award flair as a meaningful sense of achievement, even within its "useless" framework. We believe we struck a balance between a simple concept and the engaging fun of earning rewards.
What We Learned
This project gave us a much better understanding of working with AI tools and truly opened our eyes to the wide scope of possibilities for games on Reddit.
What's Next for Karma Simulator
We have exciting plans for Karma Simulator, including adding custom achievements, introducing tokens, and implementing daily challenges to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.
