Inspiration The Rise of Karenbot was inspired by imagining how absurdly easy AI could make debt collectors’ jobs. My mean innie side stepped out, unleashing demons in satirical form. Karenbot is a tongue‑in‑cheek look at what happens when AI takes over a field we’d never expect.
What it does It’s a speculative ad for a fictional AI-powered debt collection company — where complaints get processed, escalated, and weaponized with algorithmic precision. The video blends satire, cinematic flair, and generative tools to explore automation with attitude.
How we built it This was a one-human, all-AI collaboration. Concept & script: Microsoft Copilot Visuals: MidJourney for stills, refined with Nanobanana Motion: Kling AI with frame interpolation Upscaling: Topaz Gigapixel & Topaz Video Audio: Suno AI for narration, music, and sound design Assembly & graphics: DaVinci Resolve & Fusion Every frame, sound, and transition was crafted using generative tools, stitched together with human oversight.
Challenges we ran into Continuity: Characters and environments shifted between frames — solved with Nanobanana refinements Motion control: Kling required precise start/end frames to interpolate complex actions Text overlays: MidJourney and Kling couldn’t generate usable typography, so all text was composited manually Audio timing: Suno’s narration needed stem exports and retiming to match visual rhythm
Accomplishments that we're proud of Created a fully AI-powered cinematic ad without a traditional crew Achieved seamless motion across stitched Kling sequences Balanced satire, style, and technical polish in under 60 seconds Used AI tools not just for speed, but for storytelling
What we learned AI can amplify creative direction — but it still needs one. Each tool had strengths, but none could replace the judgment calls, refinements, and stitching required to make the final piece coherent. The process was iterative, playful, and surprisingly personal.
What's next for The Rise of Karenbot Karenbot’s just getting warmed up. Next, she’s heading to HR — in a mock training video titled “Karenbot Onboarding: How to Escalate with Empathy.” It’s corporate satire with algorithmic bite.
