Inspiration

The concept behind Kanexon was to create a safe space online for our users with a basic core of social impact. We have seen how negativity has affected social media users and we want to put a positive spin on our users favorite past-time. Kanexon is the application for creating a change within the social impact space. We plan on giving our users easy access to local organizations looking for volunteers and well-wishers.

What it does

For the Climathon Houston 2020, we are proposing a circular economy solution in the Materials Management category to reuse and repurpose used electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and tablets as study aids to underprivileged students looking for devices to do their school work, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when most schools have moved classes online.

How I built it

We designed the mockup UIs using HTML and CSS.

Challenges I ran into

The new normal of working over zoom call makes collaboration a bit difficult, but no major challenges since we had to present only the idea/mockups.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

2020 has thrown a lot at everyone....but we are proud that we have a social media application focused on spreading positivity and happiness that is available on iOS and Android.

What I learned

We learned about some of the challenges with eWaste management and the impact on the environment.

What's next for Kanexon - eWaste Reuse

Build the eWaste Reuse program as an extension to the Kanexon Social Media platform.
Educate people about the importance of recycling and reuse and how it drives climate action.
