India loses nearly 40% of its agricultural produce post-harvest, not due to low production, but due to poor storage, directly impacting farmer income. We are Kanda Krates — an AI-enabled smart onion storage system designed to reduce these losses affordably. Our solution is a modular 5-ton storage unit equipped with industrial-grade gas sensors, temperature, and humidity monitoring to detect spoilage before it becomes visible. It identifies crate-level hotspots and uses automated ventilation and chemical filtration to prevent gas buildup and sprouting, without expensive cold storage. Powered by an ESP32-based local system, it works even in low-connectivity rural areas. Our AI layer predicts spoilage, classifies storage risk, and provides clear actions — store, ventilate, or sell. It retrofits into existing godowns, ensuring easy adoption. The cost can be recovered in a single cycle by preventing losses. Kanda Krates enables smarter storage, higher profits, and sustainable agriculture.”
