Inspiration
Inspired by the familiarity of e-commerce platforms, KampungSG aims to replicate the easy-to-use experience of online shopping.
What it does
Returning Singaporeans or incoming immigrants can purchase products ranging from daily necessities to accomodation, making their return or migration process fuss-free. Through our unified government services marketplace, these users will find that government services are just a few taps away.
How we built it
We built KampungSG using Figma and our pitch deck using Canva.
Challenges we ran into
The empathy step was difficult as none of the team members had prior experience to any of the challenge statements. Thus making it difficult to understand the real issues they faced and how to go about solving it. However, we managed to overcome this issue by interviewing our friends and family who may have been overseas, as well as our mentor (Pink Lim) who was really helpful in pointing us towards the right direction.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to produce an interactive high fidelity prototype in a short span of 3 days, by going through the five steps of design thinking.
What we learned
We were able to learn how to utilise Figma to prototype a mobile application from scratch, realizing that a high attention to detail is needed.
What's next for KampungSG
We hope to turn this app into a reality and improve the lives of Singaporeans abroad who wish to move back, as well as to reduce friction for immigrants who wish to move to Singapore but are unaware of any necessary due process.
