Inspiration
We took community-centric as a key representative of what our product was going to be, the main idea was to design it around helping each other, looking out for each other, and spreading awareness and knowledge of scams. At first we tried to take inspiration from reddit as a main feature, but we later learned alot of teams had the same idea, so we confided in Ai and picked the best option we could. We then decided on the Pause feature as the main feature.
What it does
The app basically allows users to confide in each other, either finding clarification on scam situations they might face, or even learning more about how to deal with scams and how to identify them. It allows users to depend on neighbours, volunteers, and close ones to help make their lives easier in the scamming world.
How we built it
Our teammate vibe coded the project, while the rest of us gave feedback on the UI, features etc. Using HTML, CSS and JavaScript frontend; Node.js and Express server; SQLite database.
Challenges we ran into
Due to the project being over the holidays, we ended up having a very unbalanced work distribution, resulting in one of us being the sole developer, and the rest being the ones giving feedback. Due to members going on holiday or having holiday plans, we faced issues where the project was not the main priority.
