Inspiration

We were inspired to be able to help individuals understand their drugs in a simpler way.

What it does

It is a website that provides users the ability to search for a drug term and it'll provide them with a definition, generic name, purpose, usage and warning.

How we built it

Backend: Python, Front End: HTML, CSS, JavaScript We used OpenCV and Tesseract-OCR for image text recognition and live video recognition.

Challenges we ran into

We were not familiar with computer vision going into this, so it was a bit challenging to get text detection on images on the drug containers because they are round.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Connecting the Python to Node.js for the front end!!

What we learned

We are proud of learning some front end (some of us our backend people)! Learning computer vision for the first time for image to text recognition and video to text recognition.
