Hiding in everyday scenes
What if characters hid around us? A phone web app scans scenes and objects. AWS services power photo analysis and cloud APIs, linking images to a fixed kanji catalog. Players confirm kanji and readings, then collect Kakibake variants and cards. Built with React Native for Vega and a TypeScript server, the app brings stroke-count battles to TV.
From photos to TV
The challenge was matching photo labels to curated kanji. We kept discovery playful and catalog-based. Seeing Kakibake run on TV moved me; it made the idea feel real. Next, we’ll test D-pad play.
