Inspiration

Thought about our grandparents who have to go to clinics and hospitals sometimes but it is always a challenge, especially if they do not have private transport.

What it does

we hope this system shortcuts and presents the best and easiest (not shortest in distance) routes for the elderly when they need to visit AACs, polyclinics etc.

How we built it

databricks, genie AI, ML Flows, multiple data sources and lots of love and care of the pioneer generation.

Challenges we ran into

our limited iq, limited claude tokens (kidding). The real challenges would be making something effective long-term, not a prototype that would die out. Technical challenges would also be handling costs while finding compatible softwares for the tech stack.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An end to end solution that is feasible and scalable. The initiative enables us to get our hands (and feet) dirty too, to go down to pain points to collect data and figure out the best ways to make the platform successful.

What we learned

Thinking in the shoes of the elderly and imagining them painpoints sped up the solutioning process.

What's next for kaki buddies

We hope this can even extend to perhaps a NYC project pitch to spread more awareness to the youth and create opportunities for them to be volunteers for the system audits.
