Inspiration
One of KAKA’s cofounder Eden has over 20 years of TV game experience. After graduation from college, he devoted himself into game industry for over 12 years. Knowing what customers demand and favor, Eden has made huge achievement in game and related entertainment industry. Further, Eden is also a great fan of blockchains, and he has been working on blockchain-related projects for six years. Familiar with games and blockchains, Eden insists an idea of “play to earn” to attract more users. For instance, KAKA’s first crypto game “Troland” is an easy-to-use card game with puzzles. As users play games, they could purchase IP branded cards they are fond of as collectibles. Whether win or lose, users can earn platform tokens as rewards, which is a delicate combination with blockchain. With both delights and earnings user can get great game experience.
KAKA’s first game Troland is inspired by a set of card game in Final Fantasy III, a role-play game launched on PlayStation by SQUARE company on Feb 11, 1999, which is a game themed by love. Story of this game develops as female and male protagonists meet, fall in love with each other, and go through a series of complicated episodes.
What it does
KAKA NFT WORLD is a DEFI project of the world’s top NFT vertical game value ecology. We aim to build a metaverse property experiment through the entry of top IPs and many e-sports games. We seek to apply NFT technology to open the value exchange between the virtual world of encrypted assets and the real world to create a more pragmatic Metaverse platform.
How we built it
Product layer: KAKA keeps been exploring fun NFT play rules, and its original mystery box reopen mechanism is favored by users. Business layer: Collaboration with qualified platforms and investment institutions with great reputations. Technology layer: Tech Developer team consists of traditional game developing group (ensure fabulous game experience and stable multi-region network interactions) and blockchain smart contracts engineering group (realizing “game mining” function for users to earn tokens as rewards). Operation layer: Keep exploring more exposure opportunities on qualified platforms, making IP, NFT mystery boxes attractive and favored by people. Marketing layer: Break the conventions by making GameFi popular with conventional blockchain users, and facilitate games with blockchain applications.
Challenges we ran into
We have gone through a lot of challenges since the very beginning of this project, such as: 1). IP not powerful enough: At initial stage of this project, we did not attract many investment institutions at first as they thought the most crucial part of NFT is IP, which KAKA lacked at that time. Then, we managed to sign contracts with many globally famous IPs including Marvel, OnePiece, Saint Seiya, Paul Frank, Disney Mickey Mouse, Peppa Pig etc. 2). At first, we did not have any first-class mainstream platform as partner. We believe firmly that it is product that determines the quality of a project. Along with hardworking in product designs, we cooperate with other well-known platforms at the same time. In the future, we will collaborate with more advanced platforms such as DODO, The Force, Treasureland, MoonSwap, BakerySwap, Binance NFT, OK NFT etc. 3). Insufficient users. We took two measures to overcome this difficulty. One is attracting users to buy IP cards branding with NFT hotspot. Those users are the first round of loyal customers. The other is trying breaking conventions, attracting game players entering blockchain industry. We host 2 live shows every week regularly on international channels like Youtube, Tiktok, and in China region, we host on Tiktok, BiliBili, pinpointing on niche of game fans and opening the door of blockchain for them. From a few hundred of followers initially to around 100 thousand followers, we are consistently exploring better media channels. 4). Technical barriers. Because crypto games are based on blockchain architecture, we must put effort in ensuring fluent game experience and catering user habits at the same time. Moreover, we decide to choose BSC, OKExChain rather than Ethereum to avoid high transaction fees and network congestion.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
1). On June 28th , Marvel cards of NFT mystery box were released on DODO platform and sold 4837 pieces, which valued $820,000 USD. 2). On July 21st, the genesis reopening mystery boxes of official KAKA Chan series were sold out 1183 pieces in less than 12 hours. 3). On July 30th, Troland had the 2nd-round private beta. Mining(tokens) was implemented. 4). On Aug 2nd BakerySwap launched event of limited-edition One Piece reopenable mystery boxes and sold out 1,116 pieces valued at $100,000 USD which won an amazing reputation in secondary market for genesis gameplay. 5). On Aug 25th , KAKA cooperated with Binance NFT, launched the event on Sci-fi Metaverse Hybrid Mystery box sale and all 30070 boxes were sold out in seconds.
What we learned
In perseverance and consistent breakthroughs, we have learnt from those successful developed programs like Axie Infinity. Their group has been working on crypto games since 2018 and growing by making gradual progress. In July this year they lead a trend of GameFi. KAKA learns its model of guilds community and collaborates with YGG. The gist we found is to conform to the trend and try to know users deeply in their demands, and the target is to combine games seamlessly with blockchains.
What's next for KAKA NFT WORLD
1). KAKA 1st Troland Card Game is a e-sport blockchain gaming combining with Gamefi attribute. When Troland is officially going online, KAKA will initiate mining tokens through game battling to begin the journey of blockchain gaming. In early Sept, Troland will be deployed on Okex chain. In mid-Sept, Troland will support cross-chains. In late-Sept, Troland will officially be online. 2). At the end of 2021, KAKA will announce its second game. In the following months of 2021, KAKA will hold the offline competitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xiamen, and Changsha. 3). The KAKA Troland, the global e-sports competition includes offline club competitions and online global competitions, launched by the KAKA Chinese community. 4).Platform token will on IDO in late Sept or early Oct.
