Inspiration

We wanted to develop a good foundation for a website to help provide good education to more people, as well as interest people in learning

What it does

They navigate to our course (currently at Course > Introduction To Computer Science > Enroll), and learn a few basic coding concepts such as data types and variable assignments through playing our game

How we built it

With lots of struggling haha. We met up before the competition and discussed what we think would be good goals to reach for and how we might do that. We even made a Kanban board to practice quick development.

Challenges we ran into

In the end, even the simplest things that we thought would take only 30 minutes ended up taking up to 5 or 8 hours. We had a lot of difficulties with hosting with Google for both our website and our databases. In the end, we got both working, but sadly, not together.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It works. I think with all the challenges we faced, more than we expected, every time code worked and we got slightly closer to our goal, it was an incredible feeling. Even though we often took three steps back for every foot forward, every foot forward felt like a mile. After we figured it out.

What we learned

We learned something about web hosting, as well as front-end/back-end, as well as getting more proficient in SQL and Javascript, and frameworks like Node, jQuery, and Express. I would say the biggest thing we learned is collaboration and working together.

What's next for KAJJ

New name. Sleep. Shower. Hopefully being able to use the skills we learned and looking forward to next time!
