Inspiration

Salon owners in Italy are behind the chair all day. They are the decision maker, the payer and the daily user, and they evaluate software in scraps of time: between appointments, while a colour develops, at night after closing. Most salon software shows a calendar or stores client history, but nothing tells the owner what is actually going wrong in the business, let alone does something about it.

What it does

Kairo is the AI business advisor for hair and beauty salons. It sees the business from the salon's own data: revenue, empty slots, lapsed clients, discount leakage, no-shows. Then it executes on what it sees. The AI receptionist lives on WhatsApp, where clients already write: it answers questions, books and moves appointments, sends day-before reminders and drafts win-back messages for the owner to approve. Kairo also runs promo campaigns, issues fiscal e-receipts compliant with Italian rules (Cassa, via ACube), tracks stock, packages and promotions, and sends weekly market intelligence cards with a confidence score and recommended actions.

The promise is simple: ti dice cosa fare, poi lo fa, mentre tu tagli. It tells you what to do, then it does it, while you cut.

How we built it

The product is a Next.js web app on React 19, with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. The AI receptionist runs on the WhatsApp Business API, and fiscal e-receipt integration goes through ACube to satisfy Italian compliance. Everything is Italian-first: the product is built for the Italian salon market, where fiscal receipt handling is a market constraint, not a feature idea.

Challenges

Writing an AI agent that an owner with two minutes and one hand free can trust: every outbound message the receptionist drafts has to be reviewable, and the win-back drafts and consultation answers stay with the owner rather than going out on their own. The other challenge is compliance: e-receipts in Italy are not an optional integration, so the checkout path had to work with fiscal hardware from day one.
