Inspiration

K-kiosk of A-Admire D-Dreams and A-Able to M-manage While brainstorming ideas, we realised that two factors, education and employment, played an important role in women's empowerment. As a result, we decided to stride towards improving the lives of women in both rural and urban areas by finding ways to make them financially independent and that is when we came up with the idea to develop an online portal Kadam for stree

What it does

Kadam for stree provides a platform for women to showcase their skills such as pottery, tailoring, weaving, cooking skills, and many more in order to increase their chances of being hired by recruiters. It provides shop owners and entrepreneurs with more opportunities to hire skilled workers. As a result, both parties benefit: those looking for work and those looking to hire workers.

Challenges we ran into

Since last year, the entire world has gone digital, and the most difficult challenge we faced was not having any in-person meetings with our team members, making it difficult for us to understand each other's ideas and visions.In addition, another challenge was the time constraint. It was not impossible to create a website in 12 hours, but it was difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have completed the project within the time frame allotted while overcoming all obstacles. We're proud that we were able to work well together and come up with what we did. We are proud that despite living in remote areas, we successfully coordinated and designed the website.

What we learned

We learned teamwork by dividing each task among the overservles. We learned time management skills in order to complete the project in 12 hours. We learned how to collaborate remotely with people with diverse skill sets.

What's next for Kadam for stree

In the future, we strive to make awareness among women by making a forum and encourage them to speak out against domestic violence. In addition, we intend to raise awareness about sanitary hygiene and provide healthcare services where necessary.
